A rock and roll legend is among the latest additions to the upcoming star-studded Merle Haggard tribute concert in Nashville.
Keith Richards, legendary guitarist and songwriter from The Rolling Stones, will take the stage for Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard.
"Stuff happens, but you just have to be your own man, and have something to say," Richards said in a statement. "Sometimes you meet somebody and you know instantly that you're friends. Merle was one of those kind of cats to me. It's another goodbye to another good friend."
The event will take place at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on April 6, exactly one year after Haggard passed away at the age of 79.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow was also added to the roster, which includes Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and more. Merle's son, Ben Haggard, is also set to perform and will serve as a musical director alongside Buddy Cannon and Don Was. It's sure to be a night full of memories and stirring musical tributes.
