The Los Angeles-based girl group announced the postponement at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, just half an hour before they were due to perform at Little Caesars Arena.

The group cited an illness affecting member Megan Skiendiel, prompting backlash from fans who had already arrived at the venue, including families who had spent thousands of dollars attending the show.

Katseye Postponed Concert Just 30 Minutes Before Showtime

Katseye, which consists of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Yoonchae Jeung, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel and Sophia Laforteza, announced the news through an Instagram Story.

Screens inside Little Caesars Arena also displayed a message informing concertgoers of the postponement.

"We're sorry to share that the Katseye show scheduled for tonight at Little Caesars Arena has been postponed due to illness," the message said.

The announcement confirmed that organizers would reschedule the concert, although they did not immediately provide a new date.

However, the last-minute decision left many young fans in tears, while parents expressed frustration over the money and time they had invested in attending.

Katseye later clarified that Skiendiel was "unwell and unable to perform."

Among those affected was Jessica Lenhardt, who drove five and a half hours from Skokie, Illinois, with her two daughters, aged eight and nine.

Lenhardt revealed that she had spent approximately $5,000 on VIP tickets, travel expenses and outfits for the concert.

"It was shocking that they went through and kind of kept our hopes up until a few minutes before the show," she said.

"So I do think that if things were going wrong since the morning or even a day before, we should've been notified maybe 24 hours at least in advance, and they could've saved a lot of people coming from out of town the time and effort to get there."

Another parent, Megan Schikora, attended the concert with her 10-year-old daughter and described the emotional scenes inside the arena.

"They were all crying. It was so awful and it was so sad," Schikora said. "Why was it was so last second? That's insanely close to showtime. The venue was full. Everybody was already there."

Schikora also questioned the timing of the announcement, suggesting that organizers should have known about Skiendiel's illness earlier in the day.

Katseye later released a statement expressing their disappointment over the postponement and saying they were "truly sorry for the inconvenience".
