Kathy Griffin is controversial, at least in the opinion of some people. She always comes out swinging at the individuals, trends, or news of the moment. Now, Griffin is evidently claiming that she is unofficially banned from appearing on The Tonight Show. She is supposedly persona non grata there, allegedly because of her outspokenness. She says it's for being "inappropriate or too controversial."

In fact. Kathy Griffin took to Instagram recently to make her case publicly. She wrote, "[Jimmy] Fallon, what kind of message are we sending here?! AND can we PLEASE save canceling people for the ones who actually deserve it? Watch this week's episode of Kathy Griffin: Talk Your Head Off out now on my YouTube channel!"
She Proclaimed Herself "The Most Cancelled Celebrity in History"
In a video with her post, Griffin also sounded off on Fallon, although she does say that he has been "super nice" to her. Calling herself "the most cancelled celebrity in history," she asserted that the people responsible for booking guests in programs like The Tonight Show never say outright that someone is not welcome. Griffin claims, "They just can't seem to find room, for you."
She has not been a guest on The Tonight Show in 13 years. That was back when fellow comic Jay Leno had the hosting gig, per Entertainment Weekly.
Griffin Lashed Out at Fallon for Interviewing Conor McGregor and Donald Trump
On her video, Kathy Griffin also roasted Jimmy Fallon for having Conor McGregor as a guest on his show. The UFC fighter was accused by a woman eight years ago of sexual assault. McGregor was eventually "found civilly liable" in that case, per Blast. He has denied any wrongdoing, saying that the encounter was consensual.
Griffin also criticized Jimmy Fallon for having Donald Trump as a guest as well.
According to the miffed comic in her video, bringing people like McGregor and Trump on the show and affording them a platform sends the wrong message. In her view, it tells "women and marginalized folks" that "we're not equal and you can do anything to us and the perpetrators are still going to be out there being glorified."
She ended the video with these words. "I think it's time we kind of make up our minds about who we're going to cancel it and who we're not. Take it from the most canceled celebrity in history — look it up. As the kids say, do better."
