Rustam Huseinov had been serially disturbing the Miracle on the Plaza pop-up Bar in Kansas City. According to KSHB 41, Huseinov had frequented the bar as a patron, although he became increasingly disruptive.
He was booted from the pub On December 12 for being "disruptive." He had also allegedly been making "inappropriate sexual comments and gestures." Huseinov was not permitted to enter the bar again.
Last Saturday, however, he returned. He refused to leave, so the staff called the police. Only an hour after he was kicked out again, Huseinov returned with a large kitchen knife. Court documents describe him "[targeting] the employees that had escorted him out early."
His attack attempt was foiled, however, by the brave customers at Miracle on the Plaza. They immediately sprung to action with what they had to hand, their chairs. Or, more accurately, their red plastic stools.
They launched chair after chair at the knife-wielding suspect. Amazingly, it worked in getting Huseinov backed into a corner and suppressed until the police arrived.
