Young Kadie Lynn just keeps impressing on America's Got Talent. The 12-year-old Texan with a larger than life country sound made it through to the quarter-finals so far.
For her most recent performance, Lynn chose to cover another country newcomer: Maren Morris. For obvious reasons, Lynn starts "My Church" a few lines in. The pre-teen probably shouldn't be singing about cussin', cheatin' and lyin' just yet anyways.
But it does make perfect sense for her to praise country legends like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash. She performed Merle Haggard's "Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star" at her first appearance on the show.
Watch Lynn knock Morris' smash hit "My Church" out of the park.
Lynn's refreshingly earthy voice contrasts the trend of recent soprano singers. And of course it helps that she has an amazing group of backup singers taking the performance home.
But so far, Lynn has made wise song decision for the show. She also sang Miranda Lambert's "Mama's Broken Heart," impressing guest judge Reba McEntire. That makes Morris, who also comes from the Dallas area, Lynn's second female Texan to emulate on the show.
Tune in tonight at 7 p.m. CST for the live results show to see if it was enough to push Lynn through to the next round.
