Country star Kacey Musgraves has reached a new career high with her latest single, "Mexico Honey."

The track has earned Musgraves her first-ever solo Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now in its ninth week on the chart, "Mexico Honey" climbed eight places to No. 40, making it the highest-charting solo single of Musgraves' career.
Kacey Musgraves Lands First Solo Top 40 Hit
The Grammy Award winner has previously reached the very top of the Billboard Hot 100, although she did so alongside Zach Bryan.
Their 2023 duet, "I Remember Everything," debuted at No. 1 and gave Musgraves her first chart-topper.
However, "Mexico Honey" now stands as the biggest Hot 100 success of her solo career.
Earlier this year, the 37-year-old announced her seventh studio album, Middle of Nowhere, which arrived on May 1, 2026.
Musgraves accompanied the album announcement with the release of its lead single, "Dry Spell."
The track peaked at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 but also enjoyed success internationally.
"Dry Spell" climbed as high as No. 5 on the UK Country Airplay chart while reaching No. 10 in both Denmark and Japan.
Middle of Nowhere Marks Return to Country Roots
Middle of Nowhere sees Musgraves embrace the traditional country influences that helped shape her musical career.
"I feel like I've made this kind of big circle, when I really stand back and look and I don't think it was even really fully intentional," she previously said.
"I mean I'm always trying to find ways to pull the traditional country in because that's where my heart is. That's what I grew up with. It's familiar to me. It feels like home."
While Musgraves has spoken about listening to and drawing inspiration from genres ranging from jazz to hip-hop, country music continues to bring her back to her roots.
Following the release of Middle of Nowhere, Musgraves will soon take the album on the road.
Her 36-date tour begins in Chicago on August 21 and will travel across North America, Australia and the United Kingdom.
The North American leg concludes with back-to-back Seattle shows in October before Musgraves heads to Australia in January 2027.
She will then bring the tour to the UK in February 2027, with shows scheduled in Glasgow, Manchester and London.
