Joy Behar Misses 4th ‘View’ Episode in a Row After Dislocating Shoulder

Whoopi Goldberg made the announcement that Joy Behar was still absent from 'The View'. This comes ahead of her birthday.

Joy Behar has missed her fourth The View episode in a row after suffering an injury. As we previously reported, she first missed an episode on October 1.

Sunny Hostin announced to a shocked audience that "unfortunately, our dear friend Joy dislocated her shoulder." She reassured them that "she's recovering, and will be back soon."

A rep for Joy Behar also explained what exactly happened to cause the dislocated shoulder. "Joy caught a heel backstage," they explained.

"But [she] is on the mend and should be back on the show mid next week," the rep said, adding that "she is excited to be back at the table as quickly as possible". However, this is not the case - which is something that has left fans concerned.

Whoopi Goldberg, who was originally out to film a movie back on October 1, explained to viewers on the October 6 episode that Joy was still absent from the show, per People. "Joy is still out and Ana [Navarro] is in with us today."

This Comes as Today is Joy Behar's Birthday - Will She Be on 'The View'?

As of writing, today, October 7, is Joy Behar's birthday. Last year, they celebrated her birthday on The View with a special episode with cake and flowers to celebrate the special occasion.

This has raised a lot of questions from fans as to whether she will miss her birthday episode this year. Here's hoping that she is - it would be a shame to miss a special occasion like that!

This comes as the now 84 year old serves as the only original member of The View. She has been on the panel talk show for 30 years now - marking the longest tenure of a talk show than any other woman.

She previously joked about her veteran status on the show. "It's amazing!" she explained, "I've been on longer than Regis [Philbin] and longer than the Jolly Green Giant!"

"I said to Barbara [another original cast members] one time, 'Barbara, we're going to get old on this show'. She said, 'You're going to get old anyway, so you might as well spend it on television."

We hope that Joy Behar has a speedy recovery!
