The Josh Abbott Band help kick off the fall leg of tour season on Sept. 20-21 with JAB Fest at Lubbock, Texas' Lonestar Theater.
Instead of charging big bucks for the usual festival co-liners, JAB Fest keeps things small and local. In addition to the Josh Abbott Band, the initial round of artist announcements includes Whiskey Myers, Koe Wetzel, Parker McCollum, Grant Gilbert, Kylie Rae Harris, Sunny Shipley and Texwestus. It's an impressive collection of young, hungry Texans, playing an event with two-day general admission tickets selling for only $40.
The first JAB Festival was held in 2011 and featured appearances by Hayes Carll and Ray Wylie Hubbard. Since then, featured acts for the annual two-day fall gathering included Bri Bagwell, Wade Bowen and even '90s star Mark Chesnutt.
The lineup announcement comes fresh off the June 28 release of the Josh Abbott Band's Catching Fire EP. The festival namesakes' first album since 2017's Until My Voice Goes Out includes the nostalgic single "Little More You."
