Jon Pardi travels back in time in his brand new video for “Head Over Boots.”

The sing-along ready track is the first single from his upcoming album, California Sunrise, which is set to arrive on June 17. It’s one of those songs that has a feel-good sound and premise that almost everyone can easily latch onto.

That sentiment is echoed in the track’s video, which shows Pardi as a Hank Williams-era crooner who gives his friend a little push to talk to a pretty girl at their honky tonk. As he performs the perfect soundtrack on stage, the two quickly fall for each other. The relationship’s progression is cleverly represented by various retro and somewhat questionable fashion choices by Pardi, signifying the country music style of the era.

Pardi is known for his high-energy performances and somewhat goofy personality, and both of those qualities shine through in the best way during the video. Much like the song itself, the premise is simple, but Pardi’s ability to infuse a lot of heart and obvious country influences is what makes “Head Over Boots” really shine.
