More details have emerged following the announcement that country music star Jon Pardi and his wife, Summer, are ending their marriage.

According to Us Weekly, Summer, 37, filed for divorce in Tennessee on May 12, seeking to dissolve the couple's five-year marriage.
In the filing, she stated that the pair separated one day earlier. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
Jon Pardi and Wife Announce Separation
The couple publicly confirmed their separation on Friday, July 3.
"After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage," they said in a joint statement. "Our daughters will always remain our highest priority, and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as coparents."
"Thank you for your understanding, support and respect as we navigate these changes as a family."
Shortly after the announcement, Jon revealed that he plans to step away from social media. This is as he continues to "navigate this next chapter."
The couple shares two daughters, Presley, 3, and Sienna, 23 months.
Summer Seeks Primary Custody of Children
According to the divorce filing, Summer has asked the court to designate her as the primary residential parent of Presley and Sienna.
This is if she and Jon are unable to agree on a parenting plan.
"[Summer] would show that she is a fit and proper person to be designated as the primary residential parent of the parties' minor children," her filing reads. "The best interests and welfare of the minor children will be served by designating [Summer] as the primary residential parent."
Summer is also seeking an equitable division of the couple's marital assets. As well as the return of "all of her separate property" and an award of alimony.
The filing further states that Summer can provide evidence showing she requires spousal support. She claims that Jon "has the ability to pay."
In addition, she has requested that Jon cover "her attorney's fees and expert witness fees ... and all further general and/or specific relief."
Jon has not publicly responded to Summer's divorce petition.
Further details are expected to emerge as the divorce proceedings continue.
