Jon Pardi Provides Advice For New Fathers, "Do What Your Wife Or The Mother Says" (Exclusive)

Jon Pardi is a father of two daughters, and so has some solid advice for first-time fathers. And honestly, it's some pretty solid advice.

We had the privilege of talking to the singer when he swung by our offices in Nashville. There, we asked him if he had any advice for new dads, considering he recently welcomed his second daughter into the world.

Little Sienna Grace Pardi was born in July last year. She joined her sister, Presley Fawn, who's 2 years old. Although he's a girl dad, the advice he parts is relevant to any man new to parenting. So listen up if you're nervous at all about what's to come.

Jon Pardi Dishes Decent Dad Advice

"Tips for first-time fathers," Jon Pardi momentarily mulled. "Very important: Do what your wife or the mother says."

And that can pretty much sum up what a lot dads need to do. A little more listening and a little more helping. Of course, this is becoming an increasingly outdated stereotype, but Pardi's advice is relevant all the same.

"And try to learn as much as she does, and you will never do that, but just try," he wisely continued. Doing your genuine best counts for more than you could know. Remember that you're both in this together, and it's both of your first times.

It's important for both new parents to remain patient with each other. But considering the cocktail of hormones and the intense labor of childbirth the mother is dealing with and has dealt with, this is more important for the father to keep in mind.

"And get good at changing diapers, and you'll win everybody's heart, including the he or she you're changing their diaper for," he concluded. "Because they don't like dirty diapers." Changing diapers is awful, but getting good at it is a crucial skill.

I may not be a father, but I can tell this is some brilliant advice. One thing I'd like to emphasize is that it's your first time doing this, and it's a big deal. Although you'll have to step up and heed Pardi's advice, please allow yourself a little grace.
