Performers are not infallible. Like the rest of us, they get sick. It can happen at the worst times. That seems to be what apparently took place at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York on the night of July 23. According to Page Six, "Jon Bon Jovi abruptly ended his show... as he struggled to get through his set."

Bon Jovi was on the next-to-last show of an MSG residency consisting of nine concerts. It was a prime feature of his Forever Tour.
Bon Jovi Stopped the Show Suddenly
After doing the 40-year-old rock classic "Livin' on a Prayer, " Bon Jovi was simply unable to continue. He reportedly told the crowd, "I'm sorry, I'm hurt and you're not getting the best of me." The beloved rocker added, "Don't throw away your ticket stubs, I'm gonna figure something out, OK? Just hold onto it, we'll figure out how to reschedule. But I'm gonna have to cool it for the night. I feel great."
The Singer's Team Issued a Statement
In the aftermath of the abbreviated concert, Jon Bon Jovi's team released a brief statement. Turns out that the 64-year-old singer was ill. It read as follows. "The Bon Jovi concert at Madison Square Garden ended after 90 mins tonight. Jon Bon Jovi spoke from [the] stage and told fans he has been battling a sinus infection which led to the show's early ending. As part of the Bon Jovi residency at Madison Square Garden, Jon has said numerous times that it has been a joy to return to live shows for the band. Updated information will be available shortly."
Not All His Fans Were Sympathetic
Some of them sounded disgruntled, exasperated, and skeptical. Maybe they were just let down by the cancellation of a concert they were longing to see. There are surely those who were more disposed to be kind to their idol. Nevertheless, many unhappily vented their feelings on Reddit.
One wrote, "Not sure why anyone believes anything he says at this point."
Another huffily commented, "The moment they added additional dates for MSG I immediately thought 'Does this man ever learn his lesson?' Sigh...."
Observed yet another, "I think this many shows back to back was So ambitious for his comeback. And then to travel internationally after this too?"
He Has Had Other Physical Ailments in the Past
Jon Bon Jovi underwent vocal cord surgery in 2022, per People. Two years ago, he reportedly shared with the outlet that he was not certain if he could handle the physical demands of live performing after that procedure.
