John Travolta Had a Message for His Late Wife, Kelly Preston
Travolta shared a beautiful message for Preston on Instagram on Tuesday, Oct. 13, which is also Preston's birthday. He uploaded a video of their 26-year-old daughter, Ella Bleu, as she prepared to walk the runway for her Paris Fashion Week debut.
"Look at your baby girl now Kelly!! Happy birthday, you should be so proud!!" Travolta wrote in the caption.
Ella Bleu also paid tribute to the Jerry Maguire actress. She shared a childhood photo of herself with Preston on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.
"Happy birthday, mama. I love you," she wrote in the caption.
Travolta and Preston Were Married for Nearly 30 Years
As Entertainment Weekly reports, Preston was married to actor Kevin Gage when she met Travolta in 1989. The two stars married two years later. During their nearly 30-year marriage, they had three children, including Ella Bleu and 15-year-old Benjamin. Jett died in 2009 at the age of 16.
"She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many," Travolta said at the time. "My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly's love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while."
Travolta spoke about his grief over Preston's death in 2021. He said he was grateful for everyone's support. However, he said he "felt saturated with everyone's sadness" and "didn't know what to do" with the countless condolences he received.
He said, "The most important thing you can do to help another when they are in mourning is allow them to live it and not complicate it with yours."
