Premiere: John Salaway Celebrates a Life-Changing Love on 'Good For Me'

Nashville-based singer-songwriter and instrumentalist John Salaway sings about an inspiring relationship on the breezy "Good For Me," the latest from his forthcoming album Americana Dreams (out Oct. 25). The song, which Salaway wrote with Craig Wilson and Jason Lane, is about finding someone who makes you want to be a better person.

"'Good For Me' is about having someone in life who inspires you and makes everything more beautiful. Someone who makes you want to initiate positive changes and be a better person. If you are lucky enough to have someone in life like that, then let them know how thankful you are because that's one of life's greatest blessings," Salaway tells Wide Open Country. "This song almost didn't make it on my new album Americana Dreams. I recorded the drums, bass, rhythm guitars and vocals and was not satisfied with the sound and feel. Something was missing and I was about to abandon it and work on something else due to the deadline approaching. I asked my good friends Mike Cap & Josh Horne if they could add something to it and they created the wonderful organ, piano, electric/slide guitar parts which spice up the arrangement. That made me really love the sound and excited to have it on the album."

Salaway has a weekly residency at BB King's Blues Club in Nashville. The multi-instrumentalist has performed with Peter Frampton, Ben Folds, Anderson East, Zach Williams, and Denny Laine from the Moody Blues and Paul McCartney's Wings.

Americana Dreams is the follow-up to Salaways' 2015 album Down the Road of Life.
