John Rich to Open Redneck Riviera Bar in Nashville

John Rich, one half of the country duo Big & Rich, is bringing a new bar to downtown Nashville.

The “Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)” singer announced today the official opening of Redneck Riviera. The bar is an extension of Rich’s lifestyle brand born in 2014. Plans for the bar were first revealed over a year ago, but it seems things are now rolling along for a late 2016 opening date. Redneck Riviera will join a sea of other honky-tonk bars that stretch across Nashville’s Lower Broadway strip.

The bar will be multilevel with plans to also include a rooftop area. Inside will be a separate ‘Heroes Bar’ that will employ veterans. Veteran patrons will also receive their first drink on the house.

The exact location of the bar looks to be 208-210 Broadway which currently houses the popular Mike’s Ice Cream. Though according to Nashville Eater, a representative of Mike’s Ice Cream says they have not yet been told any official news about the move and a closing date has not yet been made known to them.

Rich is looking forward to this exciting endeavor. He says it’s one he’s been working on since as far back as 2008.  “I’ve always dreamed of building the kind of place where my friends and family could get together and turn it up after a hard day’s work,” Rich said in a press release. “Redneck Riviera is that place. We are going to build as many of them as it takes to offer a place for every hard-working American to cut loose and celebrate a job well done!”

Redneck Riviera will precede another country singer’s bar opening. Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row is set to open on lower Broadway in early 2017.
