Joey Feek Undergoes Surgery for Cervical Cancer

Joey Feek of Joey and Rory has undergone surgery for stage four cervical cancer.

On July 8, the day before Joey was set to receive the treatment, she and her husband posted a photo of their family, including their one-year-old daughter, Indiana. Rory Feek, Joey’s husband, posted an update the morning of her surgery, sharing both his fears and hope that the treatment would be successful.

“Instead of a day at home in Tennessee, we’re here at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and my wife is being treated by some of the best physicians and nurses in the world,” Rory wrote. “And all around the country, thousands of people are praying for her.”

Joey, who had been previously diagnosed and successfully treated for cancer in 2014, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in early June.

Although the couple posted videos and photos from inside the hospital, the family hasn’t given an update on Joey’s status since she went into surgery.

“While we will pray each day for a miracle, we’re gonna live each day as if it’s a miracle. And it is,” Rory wrote. “We pray for complete and total healing in Joey’s body, so we can grow old together, holding hands in rockers on our front porch watching the sun go down.”
