Joey and Rory Head Home After Cancer Surgery

Joey Feek of country duo Joey and Rory will enjoy some well-deserved downtime at home after her intensive cancer treatment.

On July 18, Joey's husband and bandmate, Rory, updated fans with a picture post of Joey and their daughter, Indiana.

"Almost home!! Joey was released from the hospital yesterday and will stay with us at a hotel nearby for a day or two before we all head home," the photo's caption read.

Earlier this month, Joey underwent a 10-hour surgery to remove the main tumor and other lymph nodes affected by the disease. Since informing fans of her diagnosis of Stage IV cervical cancer in June, Rory has been keeping everyone updated on Joey's condition through his blog, This Life I Live.

Although the family is on their way home, it's only a temporary move. They will soon return to Chicago to continue Joey's treatment, which includes five weeks of chemotherapy and radiation before another round of more aggressive chemo, which will take 18 weeks to complete.

"Each day that we're given is a beautiful gift from Him to us," Rory wrote on his blog after the cancer was first discovered. "And while we will pray each day for a miracle, we're gonna live each day as if it's a miracle. And it is."
