We all know and love Joanna Gaines for her quirky personality and impeccable eye for design. But it turns out that everyone's favorite Fixer Upper got her start on television in a very surprising way.
A TV commercial from 2008 recently resurfaced, featuring none other than Joanna herself. The ad was for Jerry Stevens Firestone, the tire shop that her father owned in Waco, Texas. With her sunny disposition, it only made sense for Joanna to act as the face and voice for her dad's shop.

Her promo for Jerry Stevens Firestone helped Joanna become comfortable behind the camera, but was also the location where she met her handy husband Chip for the first time. He recognized her from the ads during a visit to the shop. And now the rest is Fixer Upper history.

Nearly a decade later, the couple is still going strong and have plenty on their plate. Jo just snagged her own spinoff series on HGTV, and the couple are gearing up to shoot season 5 of Fixer Upper later this year. Plus, their Magnolia Market at the Silos property attracts thousands to Waco each month.
