Joanna Gaines' Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
These cookies are great to make with kids as the prep time is only 15 minutes. The cookie dough ingredients resemble most cookie recipes: butter, all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, large eggs, room temperature unsalted butter, sea salt, baking soda, vanilla extract, and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. The lined baking sheet ensures the cookies will not stick. Next, you'll mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, mix the softened butter and sugar together on medium high speed until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add the eggs and the vanilla and beat until blended. Turn the mixer off and add the flour mixture to the bowl. Start on medium speed to combine everything, then crank it up to high. Last, but not least, add the chocolate chips.
Once everything is mixed, drop large spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet. If you have a cookie scoop, feel free to use that. Bake for 10-11 minutes until lightly browned. Once cooled, repeat the process with the remaining dough. This recipe makes about 40 cookies, so you'll have plenty to share with friends and family. Or, devour them all yourself. We won't judge.

Both powerhouse women are known for living a country life with their large family. They both enjoy cooking comfort food and have a love for their pups. They also both have chocolate chip cookie recipes. There are a few difference between Pioneer Woman and Joanna Gaines' chocolate chip cookies. First, Joanna's use half the butter of Pioneer Woman's. Joanna also uses all light brown sugar, instead of granulated sugar. Pioneer Woman sprinkles a teaspoon sea salt on top of her cookies before baking. Pioneer Woman's cookies have crispy edges, while Joanna's are more soft and chewy.
The verdict: While the Pioneer Woman's flavor was more interesting than Joanna's (the coffee!!), Joanna's cookie was the perfect shape and was super moist, making it a winner in my book.
