Jimmy Kimmel has once again found himself the target of an irked TV audience. The outspoken talk show host recently called for television viewers to boycott CBS. His comments came after the network decided to cancel Stephen Colbert's late-night show.

"I will be watching tomorrow night, I hope that those of you who watch our show will also tune in to CBS for the last time," Kimmel told the live audience during the opening of Wednesday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, via the New York Post. "Don't ever watch it again. But watch tomorrow night to wish Stephen and our friends at 'The Late Show' a fond farewell."
After years of cancel culture, the general public doesn't usually take kindly to calls for a blanket ban. Kimmel's intentions may have been in the right place, as he's supporting a friend. However, viewers certainly weren't pleased that he's voiced such a strong opinion, especially so soon after his controversial Donald Trump sketch.
"Fire this a-hole. You pay him millions for this. He is the next to go," one user wrote X in response to Kimmel's comments.
Another user echoed a similar sentiment.
"Oh Jimmy..... can't wait till he gets cancelled for the same reason Colbert was cancelled. Losing his network $20+ million per year."
Jimmy Kimmel Has Been Outspoken Recently
Kimmel continues to speak his mind, regardless of the repercussions. Last year, the talk show host was pulled off the air for a week following his comments about the late Charlie Kirk.
"This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he calls a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish," Kimmel said of Donald Trump's reaction to the shooting, via the BBC.
More recently, Kimmel produced a controversial joke about Melania Trump and the president. He has since defended the joke.
"It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am," Kimmel said. "It was not by any stretch a call to assassination, and they know that I've been very vocal for many years, speaking out against gun violence in particular."
With so much bad press starting to pile up, Kimmel will likely need to take his foot off the gas. Otherwise, his show could be the next one up on the chopping block.
