Jimmy Buffett's 'Like My Dog' Video Will Make Every Pet Owner Shed a Tear

It includes never-before-seen footage of Jimmy Buffett with his furry friends.

A light-hearted tropical country selection off Jimmy Buffett's posthumous album Equal Strain on All My Parts (out Nov. 3), "Like My Dog" now has an adorable music video thanks to the Parrothead nation and the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

The video includes never-before-seen glimpses of Buffett with his furry friends plus clips posted by his fans using the #likemydog hashtag as well as footage from the ASPCA.

"The dedication and humanity Jimmy Buffett put into his music crossed over into his love for animals, especially pets and wildlife," Matt Bershadker, ASPCA President & CEO, shared in a press release. "This collaboration honors Jimmy's legacy and animal advocacy and reflects our shared commitment to help vulnerable dogs find safe and loving homes."

The press release adds that the ASPCA's collaboration with Buffett was designed to encourage pet adoptions from animal shelters and rescue organizations across the nation.

A sarcastic country tune in which our narrator wishes their partner could be as loyal as a dog, "Like My Dog" was co-written by Scotty Emerick and Harley Allen.

"She never tells me that she's sick of this house. She never says, 'Why don't you get off that couch?'/ She don't cost nothing when she wants to go out/ I want you to love me like my dog," the lyrics go.

In the video, we get an bonus jingle that Buffett sings to his pets: "Just remember, we don't do cats, we don't do frogs. Here at Jim's, we just do dogs."

Equal Strain on All My Parts was co-produced by regular Buffett collaborators Michael Utley and Mac McAnally.

Buffett died on Sept. 1 at age 76 following a long battle with Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive skin cancer.
