One thing about Jelly Roll is that the man knows how to give a good speech. While receiving the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Country Album, Jelly touched on his inspiring story and spoke about how faith has been his driving force. He encouraged the audience to seek out a relationship with God, emphasizing that "Jesus is for everybody."

"I believed that music had the power to change my life," he shared. "And God had the power to change my life. I want to tell you all right now that Jesus is for everybody. Jesus is not owned by one political party. Jesus is not owned by one music label." The singer emphasized his point, saying, "Jesus is Jesus, and anybody can have a relationship with him. I love you, Lord."

Jelly Roll accepted the Award for his album Beautifully Broken, which was released in October of 2024. The album touches on Jelly Roll's struggles with addiction, mental health, and his recovery process.

"There was a time in my life, y'all, that I was broken. That's why I wrote this album. I didn't think I had a chance, y'all," he also shared. "There were times where I thought the darkest things and thought I was a horrible human. There was a moment in my life where all I had was a (pocket) Bible this big and a radio the same size in a six-by-eight-foot cell. I believed that those two things could change my life."

The "Hard Fought Hallelujah" singer was nominated for three Grammys at this year's ceremony. He ended up taking all three titles home.

"If It Wasn't for You and Jesus": Jelly Roll Thanks Bunnie XO

During Jelly's speech, the camera also panned to his wife, Bunnie XO. Jelly took a moment to not only thank God, but also to thank Bunnie for helping him change his life.

"Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you," he also continued. "I would have ended up dead or in jail or I would have killed mysel. If it wasn't for you and Jesus. I thank you for that."

Bunnie XO has also been open online about her struggles with abandonment, OCD, and anxiety. For the couple's eighth wedding anniversary, she also thanked Jelly Roll for changing her life, calling their love an "even trade."

"Thank you for cutting your fingers on all of my jagged edges," Bunnie wrote on Instagram. "Without you, I wouldn't be the woman I am today. People always talk about how much I've helped you, but I don't think they realize it was an even trade."

Bunnie and Jelly Roll have been married since 2016, when they spontaneously tied the knot at the courthouse in Las Vegas.
