The "I Am Not Okay" singer was nominated for two categories at the Grammys this year. His song "I Am Not Okay" was nominated for both Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance, although it didn't manage to win either.

Unless he's psychic and knew he wouldn't win, there's no clear explanation on why exactly Jelly Roll missed out.

What's even stranger about him skipping is that he was active in L.A. and was put on a performance just the night before. What's more, is that his stylist had spoken to Yahoo Entertainment ahead of the ceremony to talk about his outfit.

He was in the area and fans were looking forward to his outfit which was supposed to have heartfelt messaging, so what gives?

Unfortunately, Jelly Roll hasn't touched on his absence whatsoever, and no one knows why he skipped out for certain. Speculation such as illness or tiredness have been brought up, considering his performance just the night before.

He may make a statement, as he is a pretty transparent guy, but so far he's remained silent.

It's a shame, as I really wanted to see that outfit.

Jelly Roll Was Going To Wear A Respectful And Emotional Outfit

Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, his stylist, Krista Roser, teased his outfit.

She said that the outfit would incorporate fan messages into the jacket, in a "cool" way that wasn't elaborated on. Roser said the outfit would also be respectful, "With the fires going on right now in L.A., I just felt like we needed to be very respectful."

She said, "I don't think it's a time to be flashy. I don't think it's a time to make a fashion statement. I think it's a time to reflect [and] be respectful of what's going on, and if you're going to make that statement, make [it] be a positive note on what's going on in the world."

Unfortunately, it seems we would never see the outfit that was planned for Jelly Roll. All this anticipation and hype surrounding the outfit only makes his absence stranger.
