The "Save Me" singer scooped three awards at the event. Those awards were: Best Contemporary Country Album, Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
After securing his three awards, Jelly Roll looked to swerve any controversy. So, when asked about his thoughts on the current political climate, he reminded the world that he's "a dumb redneck."
"People shouldn't care to hear my opinion. I'm a dumb redneck," Jelly Roll said. "I hate to be the artist that sounds aloof, but I just feel so disconnected from what's happening. I didn't know politics were real until I was in my mid-20s in jail. That's how disconnected you are when you grow up in a drug-addicted household."
However, Jelly Roll also made it clear to his fans that he would not remain silent on the topic and would eventually share his views.
"I have a lot to say about it, and I'm going to in the next week, and everybody's going to hear exactly what I have to say about it the most loud and clear way I've ever spoken in my life," he added.
Jelly Roll Also Opened up on His Incredible Weight Loss
Politics wasn't the only thing that Jelly Roll was asked about after the Grammys. His weight loss has become a consistent talking point, both with the media and fans around the world. So, when asked about his body transformation, Jelly Roll opened up about how he altered his relationship with food.
"I had to fight my food addiction just the way I fought my drug addiction," Jelly Roll said.
Jelly Roll also admitted that a key to his success, as far as weight loss was concerned, was making the necessary lifestyle changes. That likely includes moving more, tracking his calories, and staying active week after week.
The conversation was full of heavy stuff. Especially considering he'd just scooped three trophies for being an entertainer. Still, that's the world we're living in now, and fans will undoubtedly be waiting to see what Jelly Roll has to say about politics once he feels the time is right.
