The songwriter just released "Hands Up," an inspirational new anthem about how he changed his life through determination and willpower.

Is "Hands Up" About Bunnie Xo?

If you're hoping the song will offer more insight into why Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are estranged, you will be disappointed.

"Hands Up" showcases Jelly Roll's skills as a preacher. The gospel-tinged chorus is enough to get anyone going:

"Everybody get your hands up, Ev?rybody put your hands up

If you ain't perfect but you try / Put 'em way up to the sky

Touchin' heaven kinda high / Ain't that where we wanna go when we die

Whoa, whoa, whoa / Just put your hands up / Everybody put your hands up."

The songwriter shared in an Instagram Reel that the song is about finding the will to lose weight.

"There's a big person listening to this right now or a drug addict or somebody who wants to change some part of their life that right now is going, 'I'm gonna start next Monday,'" he said.

He added, "That first Monday comes, yo, it is pissing rain, cats and dogs, dude. And I wake up, and I'm like s***. My daughter was just like, 'Just wait till the rain quits or go on the treadmill.' But in my mind, I was like, 'I'm going outside. I'm done lying to y'all, and I'm done lying to me. I told y'all I was gonna do this walk, and I'm gonna go do this walk.'"

"I barely made it up my driveway that day," he shared. "I'm alive today because I didn't lose faith. F*** Monday... Make the choice. You can do it."

Has Jelly Roll Talked About His Divorce?

Last week, Jelly Roll spoke about his divorce from Bunnie Xo at a recent live show.

"Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today. Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it," he explained.

He added, "You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth. That will be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it. Bunny, I love you, baby."
