WWE Backlash is scheduled for Saturday, May 9. It will be the first Premium Live Event since WrestleMania. The show will undoubtedly look to build on some of WWE's biggest storylines as they progress toward SummerSlam.

One of the more quirky matches on the card will feature Danhausen and a mystery guest facing off against The Miz and Kit Wilson in a tag match. Danhausen has been involved in an ongoing storyline with the pair in recent weeks. There have been some hilarious moments stemming from the work they've done.
On first glance, it's easy to envision CM Punk emerging as Danhausen's tag partner. The duo are close friends in real life, and it would be an ideal way to get the master of "very good, very evil" even more over with the fanbase.
However, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has since noted that Jelly Roll could potentially step into the mystery tag partner spot.
"I can't confirm this but I am hearing speculation that the mystery partner for Danhausen is, in fact, Jelly Roll, which would make a LOT more sense than an unadvertised PLE appearance by CM Punk," Alvarez reported.
In recent months, TKO, the parent company of the WWE, has leaned into the draw of celebrities for Premium Live Events. Jelly Roll has become somewhat of a staple in those moments. He had a match at SummerSlam 2025 and played a role in WrestleMania earlier this year.
Pairing Danahausen and Jelly Roll would certainly be a fun gimmick. Whether it's the right move will remain open for debate.
Jelly Roll Went Viral at WWE WrestleMania
Jelly Roll is used to performing at big WWE events. In fact, his recent WrestleMania debut saw him go viral after elbow-dropping Pat McAfee through a table. Jelly Roll's participation occurred as he sought to help Cody Rhodes ahead of his title match against Randy Orton.
Orton had come out to the ring with McAfee. So, rather than letting Rhodes fight on two fronts, Jelly Roll took matters into his own hands. Truthfully, the "Save Me" singer looks like he was made for the big WWE stages and doesn't look out of place at the events.
Nevertheless, the WWE fanbase may show some frustration at another celebrity addition to a Premium Live Event card. Still, as Alvarez noted, there's no confirmation whether Jelly Roll will partner with Danhausen.
If he does, though, you can bet it will draw plenty of eyes on social media.
