Jelly Roll has a new song out, and it's not with a country artist. The Nashville native joins EDM artist Marshmello on a new song, "Holy Water." The song is a bit of a new direction for Marshmello, who according to a recent press release, uses a 12-string guitar, baritone guitar and mandolin on the track, instruments he plays himself.

The song says in part, "Memories, they stream down my face / Smiling while I bite through the pain / Guess I'll never know why the good die young, yeah / Looking for somebody to blame / Anything to get through the day / So I crack another can for the lost ones falling."
"It's really heartfelt," Marshmello says of the song. "This is one of the most emotional songs I've ever released. It's about losing a loved one. Unfortunately, a lot of us can relate to that. When I showed the initial idea to Jelly Roll and told him the story, he loved it. He's an open book, and it was really great to see how it resonated. It inspired me to go in even more on the production and get creative with the country elements. He definitely brought it home to where it is now."
When announcing the release of the song, Jelly Roll said it has one big benefit.
"My son finally thinks I'm cool!" the father of two writes.
Jelly Roll And His Other Collaborations
Jelly Roll is no stranger to collaborations. He's released several songs with other artists, including "Save Me" with Lainey Wilson, "Somebody Save Me" with Eminem and "Lonely Road" with Machine Gun Kelly, among others.
But it's his "Believe" duet with Brooks & Dunn that led to "Hard Fought Hallelujah," one of his biggest collaborations. Jelly Roll released the song with Brandon Lake.
"To me, if nothing else came of this song, if it didn't end up being the hit it's becoming, if it just would have brought a few more people to Him, (it's worth it)," the "Son Of A Sinner" singer tells K-Love. "The idea of a guy at the Jelly Roll show drinking a beer and singing this song with conviction is the exact thing I prayed for when I got on the song."
