Jeep is getting fans excited with a slew of new concept vehicles, including this Jeep Commanche truck.
The rugged, military-inspired truck is an update of Jeep's classic Commanche truck, which went out of production in the early 90's.
The model is based on the Jeep Renegade compact SUV. Notable features include a sleak body style and convertible rooftop. Also, the wheelbase has been extended six-inches to accomodate a five-foot truck bed.
The sporty truck has an all-wheel-drivetrain with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 2.0-litre diesel I-4 engine.
Additional features include a concept lower front fascia, a bed-mounted spare-tire, rock rails, a winch and a steel rear bumper.
The new Commanche model is one of seven new concept cars Jeep built for its Annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. While Jeep is planning to release a new pickup truck in 2017, it won't necessarily be this one. The model is only a fully-functioning concept that Jeep designers hope company execs will move into mass production.
