Jaylen Watson Worked at This Fast Food Chain Before NFL Stardom

Jaylen Watson previously worked at a fast-food chain while waiting for his college eligibility, and he hated it.

Jaylen Watson is a two-time Super Bowl winner. The cornerback is one of the best in his position throughout the entire NFL. However, before all of the fame and the championships, Watson was just like the rest of us, and that meant he had an ordinary job, well, at least for a short while.

After failing to qualify for a transfer offer from the USC Trojans, Watson moved back home. His mother managed a local Wendy's in Augusta, Georgia. As any mother would, Watson's mom offered him a job at the popular eatery. Of course, Watson wasn't a fan of his time there.

"I hated it. It was terrible," Watson, 27, told the New York Post. "I love her to death, but it was terrible. You get no breaks from your mom, you go to work, and you're with your mom. you go home, you're with your mom. You can't even talk about work."

Of course, there's an additional downside to working for, or with family.

"You might get mad, you might not have a good day at work, then you go home," Watson joked. "Guess who's home?"

Watson never did land with the Trojans. However, he was eventually eligible to suit up for Washington State University. He spent two seasons with the team before declaring for the NFL draft. He was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 243rd overall pick.

Jaylen Watson Is Having a Memorable Career

Watson has just completed his fourth season in the NFL. He represented the Chiefs in each of those campaigns, playing in a total of 53 regular-season games and starting 29. He's also suited up for 10 postseason contests, including runs to the 2022 and 2023 Super Bowl.

However, Watson will spend this offseason relocating and getting situated with his new team. The cornerback recently inked a three-year, $51 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams. He previously attended Ventura College before moving into the Division 1 ranks. As such, he's moving into a pre-existing social network.

"I had all my JUCO friends hit me up that are still out here," he said. "I'm pretty familiar with California. I love the weather, and everyone's so nice here."

With his previous fast food experience, if he's ever looking to make some extra cash during the offseason, he could always apply to work part-time at In'N'Out, you know, just to compare experiences.
