Jason Aldean Reacts To Music Legend's Passing, Calling Him The Greatest Of All Time

"One of the best musical minds of all time," Aldean writes on social media. Nothing but respect for Brian Wilson and all he showed us. This is one of the actual GOATS of music!"

Wilson's family announced the news of his passing on social media.

"We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away," his family

writes on Facebook. "We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world."

Although a specific cause of death was not revealed, last year the family announced that Wilson had dementia. Wilson was placed under conservatorship for his own well-being, allowing him to remain in his home as his health declined.

Jason Aldean's New Album

Aldean certainly has a lot to admire in Wilson, but Aldean is also in the middle of a legendary career as well. The 48-year-old just celebrated his 30th No. 1 single, with "Whiskey Drink," the last single from his 2023 Highway Desperado record. Aldean is hard at work on a brand-new album.

"[I'm] excited to get it out there," Aldean tells Audacy, adding that fans aren't as patient as they used to be for new music from artists.

"You drop an album and then everybody just consumes it for a month or two," Aldean says. "And then they're like, 'OK, when's the next one coming out?' You're like, 'Man, it took me eight months to make that thing.' So, I think this go around, trying to figure out how we drop a project and maybe kind of stagger it out where we don't give them everything right off the bat. Just enough to kind of say, 'Here's a little bit,' and then 'Here's a little bit more.' And then, 'Here's the rest of it' kind of thing."
