Jason Aldean Pays Tribute to Tracy Lawrence at VIP Party

How lucky are Jason Aldean fans who attend the We Were Here Tour 2016? Some of those ticket holders not only get to see a high energy show filled with hit songs from Aldean and opening acts Thomas Rhett and A Thousand Horses, but the extremely fortunate fans get an intimate Aldean VIP acoustic performance beforehand.

During a recent VIP experience, Aldean paid homage to one of the artists that has influenced him in his career, Tracy Lawrence. Aldean sang the nostalgic “Time Marches On” for the small crowd, an appropriate choice considering the song is celebrating its twentieth year release in 2016. Not only did Aldean perform Lawrence’s 1996 No. 1 tune; he did so with the intention of doing his “best Tracy Lawrence impression”.

Considering the two have become friends since Aldean moved to Nashville, hopes were high that he could do Lawrence and the CMA Award-nominated Song of the Year some serious justice.

Do you think Jason Aldean nailed his Tracy Lawrence cover?

The Jason Aldean We Were Here Tour will make its way to Australia in March, but will return to the United States in late April, extending through the entire year. Included in Aldean’s dates are certain festivals and co-headlining stadium shows.
