Jason Aldean surprised a generous young fan with a gift that she’ll never forget.
When 10-year-old Lillyanna Martinez from Las Cruces, N.M. was planning her recent birthday party, she told her parents that she didn’t want presents this year. Instead, she asked her partygoers to bring items that could be donated to the less-fortunate.
DJ Bobby Bones heard about Martinez’ story, and brought her on his radio show to chat about her heartwarming decision to help others.
“Why did you want to do that? Why did you want to give back?” Bones asked the kind-hearted 10-year-old. “I wanted to help kids my age,” she replied thoughtfully.
Moments later, Bones connected Lillyanna with a surprise caller who had a very special message. Jason Aldean, the young girl’s favorite country artist, heard about the youngster’s kind efforts and wanted to share his appreciation.
“Hey, what’s up Lillyanna? I heard what you were doing this year, giving your presents to needy kids and it’s unbelievable. I think we need more kids to set an example like that,” said Aldean.
Kind words weren’t the only gift that the country star had for Martinez. “We’re going to send you an autographed guitar, and we’re also going to get you tickets to any show of mine that you want to come to, meet and greet so I have a chance to say hello to you and thank you in person,” Aldean revealed.
After the call, Aldean also shared Martinez’ story on his Facebook page with the kind message: “Lillyanna is what the Christmas season is all about!”
