Song Premiere: Jake Ward's Yearning 'Where the Wind Blows'

Texas singer-songwriter Jake Ward is holding on to a past love on the fiddle and steel-driven "Where the Wind Blows" from his forthcoming album Back on Solid Ground (out on July 26).

The song, written by Ward, David Banning and Bradley Banning, centers on a man still in love with a free spirit who's blown away much like the blossoms on the dogwood trees that stand on the land they share.

"I'm gonna stand my ground/ and stay right here where we put our roots down," Ward sings. "I'm gonna keep holdin' on to what you let go/ And hope this is where the wind blows."

Ward says the song is about holding on to what you've built and not giving up on those you love.

"This song is about losing the love of your life, but deciding that you want and need them back. Keeping what you had in the past alive with you," Ward tells Wide Open Country.

Back on Solid Ground was recorded in New Braunfels, Corpus Christi and Stephenville, Texas, 'Back On Solid Ground' was co-produced by Mason Shirley, Scott Wiggins and Josh Serrato.
