The 10 Best Jake Owen Songs

Jake Owen has been topping the country charts since his debut single "Yee Haw" was released in 2006. The Florida native's real name is Josh, but after moving to Nashville and catching the attention of a record label, they encouraged him to go by Jake to avoid confusion with Josh Turner. I guess country music didn't have room for another Josh. Regardless of the name change, the talented singer and songwriter has been making his mark on the country Billboard charts ever since.

To date, Owen has released six studio albums — Startin' with Me, Easy Does It, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, Days of Gold, American Love, Greetings from... Jake. It's no wonder that the country singer has toured with numerous other major names including Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Little Big Town, Sugarland, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean.

Though it's tough to narrow down with such an impressive catalog of great songs, here are our picks for the top 10 Jake Owen songs.

1. "Don't Think I Can't Love You"

The lead single from Easy Does It peaked at No. 2 on the US Hot Country Songs Billboard chart. The song, co-written by Owen, centers on the importance of love over material things.

 2. "Beachin'"

This is the definition of a summer jam right here. The music video was filmed at Daytona Beach in Owen's home state of Florida.

3. "Barefoot Blue Jean Night"

The title track from Owen's third album is easily one of his greatest hits to date. Owen was nearly finished with the album, but he just couldn't get this song out of his head. At the last minute, he decided to include it. Clearly that was the right decision!

4. "Alone with You"

Co-written by well-known songwriter Shane McAnally, "Alone With You" was another No. 1 hit for Owen. It shows a different side to the singer and shows that he can do more than just upbeat country jams.

5. "Startin' with Me"

This 2006 single from Owen was the title track to his debut album. The song was Owen's first top 10 hit on the charts. The narrator of the song reflects back on things in his life he would have done differently. The music video features Owen singing in a room full of mirrors. His twin brother Jared even makes a cameo.

6. "The One That Got Away"

This 2012 single was inspired by Owen's upbringing in Florida.

7. "American Country Love Song"

The first single from American Love was written as a celebration for all forms of love in our country. The music video features Owen driving across the country in a VW van. He's in good company with his fans at various roadside stops along the way.

8. "Anywhere with You"

This is a classic feel-good love song. Owen sings about being happy going anywhere at all as long as he's with the one he loves.

9. "I Was Jack (You Were Diane)"

The first single from Owen's most recent new album, Greetings from... Jake, was written as a tribute to "Jack & Diane" by John Mellencamp. Owen respectfully requested Mellencamp's permission before recording it and the rock legend personally gave him the green light.

10. "Homemade"

Another single from Owen's most recent album, "Homemade" celebrates love stories in small towns throughout America. The music video even chronicles the sweet love story of his grandparents.
