There isn't much that can stop Jake Owen from performing for his fans... not even a nasty bike wreck. The country star took to Twitter to let his fans know that a recent accident would not keep him from his scheduled tour dates. Jake is currently on tour promoting his forthcoming album and new single "American Country Love Song."
"Supposed to be headed towards Herrin, IL. for show, instead headed for Emergency Room... I'll make Herrin.. No worries. Show must go on," Owen shared on Twitter. A few hours later, he explained the reason for his trip to the hospital and tweeted, "All good, and on the road to Herrin, IL... Some stiches and I'm back at it.. See y'all tonight. #iwreckedmybike"
Despite a bloody left limb with a handful of stitches, the "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" singer is staying positive. "After stitches... Sometimes in life, you fall. That's when you get back up again, and walk it off," he tweeted while sharing the graphic photo of his injury.
The Florida native is no stranger to staying positive during tough times. "Over the past few years I've experienced the unexpected," he explained. "My Dad received a cancer diagnosis and I, unfortunately, went through a divorce. People probably thought I would record songs that reflected those difficult times, but I found myself gravitating to songs that had more of a positive vibe and actually made me feel better by singing them. Music truly does seem to help the healing process."
Owen's new album, American Love, will release this summer on July 29.
