However, there is exciting news - a biopic about Ozzy is in the pipeline. His son, Jack, recently gave an update on how the project is going. Per People, the silver screen effort was announced five years ago. Jack says that the script is "done" and the production phase is getting underway.

There seems to be two goals in making a film about Ozzy Osbourne, according to his son. It has to appeal to his followers and also pay tribute to Ozzy the man and the musician.
"I have this mantra, and I always say it, when in meetings with my mom or doing anything with the family business. It's, 'give the fans what they want.' That's our people...That's what my dad wrote music for. That's what he toured for. It's why we did the shows we did. It's been a big theme," Jack observed.

It sounds like gritty, honest realism is the objective, not something highbrow or lofty. Jack Osbourne added, "We're doing the Ozzy movie with Sony, and I'm always saying in the meetings, 'We have to give the fans what they want.' We can't make this artsy, kind of esoteric biopic. No, we're not doing that, for many reasons, but it's not what the fans want."
Per People, Sony, Polygram Entertainment, and Osbourne Media are working together to craft the film. Producing it are Jack, his sister Aimee, and mom Sharon. "Rocketman screenwriter Lee Hall [is] on board to write the screenplay...."
