Jack Ingram tries to balance life with the bottle in his emotional new video for "I'm Drinking Through It."
It's been seven years since the Texas native has released a new full-length record. Now, he's making a comeback with his emotional new single and coinciding video. Ingram has never been one to mask pain or conflict in his songs, and that rings true for "I'm Drinking Through It."
Directed by Michael Tully, the video shows the struggles of a turbulent relationship. The lovers are happily reunited after some time to cool off with a stiff drink.
Sometimes, the only way to get through the hard times is by blowing off some steam and grabbing a cold beer. It's a simple sentiment, but one that Ingram describes honestly and authentically. Since his debut in 1992, he's been supplying stellar music full of heart and heartache. With this new single, it looks like his upcoming release will continue that tradition of excellence.
"I'm Drinking Through It" will be featured on Ingram's upcoming album, Midnight Motel, set for release on August 26. Until then, you can catch Ingram touring across the country before wrapping things up with a set at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas on Sept. 2.
