Texas does everything a little bit different so it makes sense that the state would have its own sub-genre of Christmas songs. George Strait, Gene Autry and Dale Watson have all put their spin on holiday tunes for the Lone Star State and now there's a new addition to the library of songs. Rockers Demir Demirkan and Lance Keltner pay tribute to Christmastime in the capital city with their new song "It's a Texas Christmas."
The tune honors the state's often balmy weather and celebrates Tex-Mex and drinking tequila instead of egg nog. The Austin residents give their home city a special nod with shout outs to Barton Springs and adopted son Stevie Ray Vaughan. The video even captures several familiar Austin spots.
