Local media first reported that officials suspected Konanki, 20, drowned. She reportedly entered the water after a night out with friends. The incident occurred during her spring break stay at the RIU Hotel & Resort in Punta Cana. She vanished in the early hours of March 6.

"We deploy all resources to investigate Konanki Sudiksha Chowdary's disappearance thoroughly," she said. "We understand the pain this causes her family, Dominicans, and Americans."

Reynoso stressed a comprehensive approach. "We apply a holistic protocol that examines all variables," she added. "Her family and both Dominican and American societies deserve certainty. We will keep investigating until we deliver answers."

Investigators Seek Clues

Konanki, an Indian national from Virginia, draws massive search efforts. Over 300 law enforcement personnel join the hunt. The FBI and U.S. Department of Homeland Security assist, agencies from both nations confirm.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Konanki's hometown named Joshua Riibe a person of interest. The 24-year-old tourist hails from Iowa. Authorities caution he is not a suspect. They also note no crime has been confirmed. Riibe, a Rock Rapids resident, cooperates with police.

Theresa Riiibe, Riibe's aunt, spoke to the Daily Mail. She defended her nephew, a former high school wrestler and football player. "He wouldn't hurt a fly," she insisted.

The case grips two nations as the search intensifies. Officials pledge relentless effort. Konanki's family and friends wait for answers. The investigation tests resources and resolve. Each day without her heightens the urgency.
