Internet Is Having A Field Day Over Trump’s Promise To Bring Back Plastic Straws

Donald Trump is making his presence known in the White House by switching things up. Now, he is looking to bring back the plastic straw, scrapping the allegedly more eco-friendly paper ones. It's got people talking.

There have been a number of wild claims made by the Great Leader of late. The Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America for some reason, and Trump wants Canada as the 51st state. However, scrapping the plastic straw may just cause a bit of damage.

Donald Trump is famously a fan of Diet Coke, with a button fixed to his desk that summons it. I expect he got sick of poorly designed paper straws going soggy on him. Anyway, now, as a measure to protect the slurping American public, he has reintroduced plastic straws.

"These things don't work, I've had them many times, and on occasion, they break, they explode. If something's hot they don't last very long, like a matter of minutes, sometimes a matter of seconds," Trump said as he signed his new bit of paper. "It's a ridiculous situation so we're going back to plastics."

I remember when the plastic straw issue was fresh. The picture of the turtle with a straw up its nose was everywhere. And, now it's back. The internet has exploded with memes and comments about Trump bringing back the plastic straw.

I honestly had no idea how passionate people were about the paper straws either. People on socials are waxing lyrical about how happy they are to see the plastic straw back on the market. You would think they were long-lost relatives.

"The paper straws plagued us. They are awful. Deteriorating the moment liquid hits them. They taste terrible and flake off the cardboard. Truly, a terrible "invention". The plastic straw is superior," one X user states.

The return of the plastic straw is one that has got people talking. It seems to be a step backward in the fight to go plastic-free. But, it's his country, and he gets to choose what people suck their juice through.
