Burrell Reportedly Left Behind 'Suicidal" Writings
Per People, a "suicidal" note along with "suicidal" journal entries were found in the bedroom of Burrell's home, according to the New York Police Department. Her husband, Stuart Claxton, allegedly discovered Burrell that day, according to a police report. She was reportedly on the floor of the bathroom in an unresponsive state. There were also over-the-counter pills on the floor. When Claxton could not rouse Burrell, he called 911.
The New York City medical examiner determined that Burrell's cause of death was "acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine."
She Had Not Seemed To Be Contemplating Taking Her Own Life
According to the outlet quoting from the police report, Burrell had no previous suicide attempts and had not discussed anything related to wanting to commit suicide, Stuart Claxton said. There seemed to be no hints beforehand that Burrell would do something like that.
There May Have Been Hidden Issues Troubling Her
Per Page Six, an unnamed friend of Anne Burrell's suggested that she might have been experiencing some difficulties. "I know she kind of struggled," this person reportedly shared. "She was famous, she was doing the food and wine circuit stuff. She was busy — I kind of felt like she wasn't totally happy. People with big personalities sometimes mask things."
