Cancer is always a terrifying thing that can cause a lot of strife in people's lives. It's never something that should be navigated easily.
And the diagnosis of influencer Nara Smith's 2-year-old daughter Whimsy is no exception to this. She originally revealed the diagnosis on July 1, as reported by People.
She explained that Whimsy had originally been diagnosed with cancer "late last year". The influencer recalled, "When we saw something suspicious on her, we took her to the ER and they didn't quite know what to make of it."
"When we took her into our pediatrician, I just remember him going really quiet and calm... My heart dropped in that moment," she recalled. "I don't know whether it was my gut telling me something or just a mom's intuition, but the first thing that I felt was she has cancer."
She also revealed that the children's hospital confirmed her worst fears after the pediatrician advised them to go there. "After a lot of X-rays, ultrasounds and finally a biopsy, they immediately called us and said that she has cancer. [They] told us it had spread and that she needs to come and start chemo treatments immediately."

The Influencer Opened Up About Why She Revealed Whimsy's Cancer
In her original video, she did say that speaking with other families who are experiencing the same thing made her feel better about what was going on, "All of that combined really brought me a lot of comfort and alleviated the feeling of loneliness for me," she said.
People reported that the influencer posted a follow-up post describing her daughter as her "little warrior girl." She also wrote, "sharing something this vulnerable wasn't an easy decision but seeing every message, prayer, story of a similar experience and kindness has made it a little easier."
She added, "to every family or parent walking through something heavy right now, we're thinking of you too."
Her social media post also included a carousel of images of Whimsy, including an adorable picture of her head decorated with jewels.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family, and we hope Whimsy makes a full recovery. God bless them!
