The 30-year-old, known for her up-cycling videos, and her husband, Andrew Fedyk, welcomed their daughter earlier than expected. The couple shared that she was due in July, but arrived after 33 weeks of pregnancy following an emergency C-section.
"We are utterly besotted," she wrote in the caption. "We are so grateful for our wonderful medical team for getting us both through this safely, and the remarkable NICU staff for all they do."
White announced her child's birth on Tuesday, June 2. That date may be why some of her followers have criticized the name she chose for her daughter.
What Name Did Madeleine White Give Her Daughter?
White's followers had been guessing for weeks what name she and her husband would give their daughter. So when she revealed that they had chosen Juliette July Fedyk, they had questions.
White responded to the criticism of her daughter's name.
"Why would you name her July if she's born in June? Now she's gonna be answering that question, 'Oh, I was supposed to be born in July,'" she began mockingly.
White then made a good point, saying, "Come to the front, everybody named April. You born in April? Come to the front, everybody named May. Anybody check that birth certificate for January Jones? Like, god forbid you name a child something that has absolutely no relevance when they were born."
She added, "And if she was born in December, she still would have had the middle name July."
There Were Other Contenders
In a previous post, White shared some of the other names she and her husband considered. They wanted a "spare name" just in case she didn't look like the name they chose.
Maude was under consideration, as it reminded White of the name Demi Engemann from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives gave her daughter. Cosette was a runner-up. However, the influencer wasn't fond of the fact that it is associated with Les Misérables.
Other ideas were Constance, Cicelty, and Iris. Romy was at the top of the list for some time. Then White learned it was projected to be a top name for girls this year.
