Laura Viktoria Härtig has died at the age of 30.

The German fitness influencer died on July 12, three weeks after colliding head-on with an Olympian while cycling in Italy. She was on her honeymoon. The news was confirmed by several local outlets and reported by the New York Post.
What Caused the Death of Laura Viktoria Härtig?
Härtig was known for sharing content of her hiking, cycling, and skiing excursions on Instagram. The influencer also did not let her honeymoon slow her down.
While pedaling on a road near Sella Pass, a mountain gap in Northern Italy, she crashed into 57-year-old former Olympic skier Peter Runggaldier. The incident occurred on June 23, just two days after her nuptials.
Härtig's bicycle broke in half. She then fell on the asphalt, which caused her life-threatening injuries. First responders resuscitated Härtig at the scene. She was then airlifted to a hospital in Bolzano before her family moved her to a facility in Bavaria.

Facebook: "Road accident. This morning, the force attended a road accident at Passo Sella, kilometer 32+400. A motorcycle and a bicycle were involved. Traffic was stuck for about an hour. Intervened in support of the Canazei VVF, the White Cross of Canazei, Trentino emergency and the helicopter services."Härtig died 19 days later, among her family and friends.
The Olympian Has Shared a Statement
In a video of her wedding, Härtig called her husband her "soulmate for life." The clip showed the couple reading their vows against a stunning alpine backdrop, while friends and family celebrated the union.
Italian Olympian Runggaldier competed in alpine skiing at the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympics. He has also won two World Cup races in his sporting career. In a statement regarding the incident, he emphasized his need for privacy.
"I ask you to respect my moment of pain and my need for confidentiality," it read. "My thoughts go out to all the people involved and their families. I trust in your sensitivity, and please understand that at this time I will not give any interviews or statements."
