The months leading up to Garcia's death had already been marked by profound personal tragedy.

Reflecting on their passing, she wrote: "Two people who left a profound mark on my life and my heart."
She added: "Hello to my 30s... with a heart full of eternal love for you both."
Speaking after Garcia's death, Sinaloa Secretary of Health Cuitláhuac González Galindo said the department had not yet received official information regarding the case.
However, Galindo confirmed that the appropriate investigations would be carried out to establish exactly what happened.
Garcia's family has not yet released a public statement.
