Hair Loss Drug Causes Infants To Develop Werewolf Condition

While these children are not transforming into howling beasts during a full moon they are growing enough hair to resemble one. The NY Post reports "Navarra Pharmacovigilance Center has detected 11 cases of hypertrichosis - commonly known as "werewolf syndrome"— in babies throughout Spain."

Infants who develop this werewolf condition grow "tufty hair" along their backs, legs and faces. When studying these infants, the Navarra Pharmacovigilance Center noticed a correlation between topical minoxidil and the infant's caregivers.

Minoxidil is an active ingredient in most common hair-loss treatments. Many of these treatments are available over the counter such as Hims, Keeps, and other generic products. Those investigating the case of the infants with the werewolf condition believe that they absorbed the minoxidil either topically or orally from their parents.

In every case in Spain, once the parents stopped uses the hair loss drug the infants symptoms subsided or regressed. Based on this data, health experts are warning against the use of such drugs or anything with minoxidil around infants.
