California's premier fast-food chain, In-N-Out Burger, just shook up its ingredients with some staples. The burger behemoth, which has expanded to states like Texas and Tennessee in recent years, left some fans scratching their heads and rubbing their bellies over the ingredient switcheroo.
In-N-Out Burger announced the ingredient changes on Sept. 8. "Over the years, we've made meaningful changes to our ingredients, and this past year was no exception," the company wrote alongside slides detailing what's going to be different going forward.
"Sesame flour is no longer an ingredient in our buns across 10 states," the chain detailed. In-N-Out also announced that it's replacing iodized salt with sea salt.
The chain also reminded diners that in 2025, it started using real sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup.
"We're pleased to share our latest updates, and we'll continue building on that commitment for years to come,' In-N-Out added.
Under its announcement, In-N-Out fans sounded off on another request in the comments section.
"Tallow fries and a complete elimination of seed oils would be amazing," one top comment read. "Good progress! Now time to use beef tallow ??," another fried food lover agreed.
In-N-Out Fans React to Major Change to Its Ingredients
Meanwhile, passions ran high for connoisseurs of salt over on X reacting to In-N-Out Burger's ingredient changes.
"Iodine is good for you, and you should have iodized salt," one popular X reply read. "Yes absolutely that's sad to see and not great for people who need the help for thyroid function," another X user agreed. "Iodized salt is healthier than sea salt though," a third X user declared.
"Pal, if you're relying on in and out French fries to maintain your iodine levels then you have a problem," yet another X denizen fired back.
"Complaining about In N Out Fries because you're used to the poison they're feeding you at other places is crazy. They're real potatoes with no additives. Grow up or go eat a Happy Meal," a passionate salt lover on X weighed in.
