Cher probably wishes she could turn back time after her recent Grammy Awards appearance.

The music icon had just received the Recording Academy's Lifetime Achievement Award. She then returned to the stage to present the award for Record of the Year. That's when things got a little awkward for the 79-year-old performer. We have the details below.
The Award Goes To...
As Cher began presenting the award at the Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 1, she seemed a little confused.
"And the Grammy goes to... Oh! They told me it was going to be on a prompter," said the singer. "Oh, the Grammy goes to Luther Vandross. Oh, Kendrick, no Kendrick Lamar!"
The R&B singer Vandross was the inspiration for the song that won the award, Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "Luther."
It was a very human moment for the rock goddess. There was some laughter from the audience. Even Lamar appeared to be amused by the mistake. As he and SZA approached the stage to accept the award, it looked like Cher was telling him, "I'm so sorry."
The singer then stepped aside as Lamar gave his acceptance speech.
It's Another Odd Moment for Cher
Cher's Grammy mistake marks another odd live television moment for the singer.
Back in December, the "Believe" artist appeared on Saturday Night Live. As she performed the holiday tune "DJ Play a Christmas Song," fans couldn't help but notice that even though there were moments when her lips weren't moving, there was still singing.
Fans began to speculate that Cher lip-synced her performance and voiced their disapproval on Reddit.
One wrote, "I mean, there's a lot of self-parody to Cher, and that's what makes her such a drag icon."
Another wrote, "I guess what really bothers me was that it was so obvious that she was lip-syncing."
Yet another wrote, "Wow yeah, I thought that was a big no-no on SNL...What a bummer. You'd think they'd vet the music guest to uphold the 'live' part of SNL."
A fourth agreed, "That was hard to watch."
These human moments are unlikely to erode her status as an icon. We will never see another performer with a career like Cher's.
