Tom Kane has died at the age of 64.

The voice actor was perhaps best known for his work on The Powerpuff Girls and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Kane's death was confirmed in a
Facebook announcement shared by his agency, Galactic Productions."From his unforgettable performances in Star Wars to countless animated series, documentaries, and games, Tom brought wisdom, strength, humor, and heart to every role he touched," it read. "His voice became part of our lives, our memories, and the stories we carry with us."
It added, "But beyond the incredible career was an extraordinary man. Tom was a devoted husband and father who, alongside his wife, built a loving family of nine children — three biological and six welcomed through adoption and fostering. That compassion and generosity defined who he was just as much as his remarkable talent did."
Who Is Tom Kane?
The Kansas City, Missouri, native was born on April 15, 1962. Kane began his voice acting career at the age of 15. His breakthrough came in the 1990s, when he provided the voices of Professor Utonium and the villain HIM on The Powerpuff Girls.
Kane would then go on to voice many memorable characters. His credits include Mr. Herriman on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Magneto on Wolverine and the X-Men, and Lord Monkey Fist on Kim Possible.
Kane also served as the Academy Awards announcer four times. He also served as the announcer for the Adult Swim series The Eric Andre Show.
Kane Will Be Best Remembered for His Work in the "Star Wars" Franchise
Perhaps Kane will be best remembered as the voice of Jedi Master Yoda in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He would also provide the newsreel narration that opened every episode.
Kane's voice can be heard in countless video games, cartoons, and toys associated with the science-fiction franchise. Before his retirement, he voiced Admiral Ackbar in the film Star Wars: The Last Jedi and narrated the first episode of the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
Kane had a stroke in 2020. The incident dramatically altered his speech and movement, forcing Kane to retire from voice acting. He then died from complications from the stroke.
