Iconic Country Band Sets Final Show After Nearly 60 Years Together

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band first announced its farewell tour in 2024. Now, almost two years later, they've shared their final run of dates

It's been almost two years since The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band first announced their farewell tour. Yet, almost 730 days later, they're still getting up on stage and doing their thing. In fairness, nobody has ever said a farewell tour had to be short-lived. What's wrong with a multi-year party before bowing out of a career that spans six decades?

However, even long-term parties have to come to an end eventually, and for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the writing appears to be on the wall. The band recently announced a new round of dates on its Instagram account, admitting that these dates will be its last.

"The final leg of the 'All The Good Times: The Farewell Tour' is on sale NOW!" the post read.

According to Parade, the band decided to extend the farewell tour so that it could celebrate hitting the 60-year mark together.

The final show will take place June 18, 2026, at Denver's Mission Ballroom.

"The newly added run of dates marks the concluding chapter of a touring career that began in 1966 and helped bridge folk, country, bluegrass, rock, and Americana for generations of fans," Parade reported.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Recently Released a New Music Video

Music videos don't carry the same weight as they once did. They're often lower budget, and rarely used to push a song to new heights, at least, not in the way they used to during the 80s, 90s and even early 2000s. However, in the case of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, there's something special about their latest music video release.

The song, "Nashville Skyline," could very well be the final track with a music video from the legendary group. For that reason alone, it could have a nostalgic level of impact on the fanbase. After all, in the coming months, the group will hang it up for good. So, releasing a final music video is a good way to say goodbye to the fans who haven't been able to make it out to a live show.

However, if you are planning to see the band one last time, you will have 30 dates to choose from. The first of which will be a five-day fun-fest on the Outlaw Country Cruise. While the May 13 date at the Grand Ole Opry House will be the crown jewel, marking the group's 60th anniversary at an iconic venue.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will play their final show on June 18 at the Mission Ballroom in Denver. It's sure to be an emotional night.
